Cultivating the Word
The quality of soil determines how well the fruits of the spirit grow.

In this sermon Pastor Dan Hamel unpacks The Parable of the Sower. He explains that the quality of the soil, our heart, determines how well the fruits of the spirit will grow. If you have a hard heart the word never penetrates, and is unable to germinate. If you have a rocky heart, you may hear the word and receive immediate joy, but it doesn't take root and only lasts a short time. If you have a thorny heart, the worries of life choke the word, and makes it unfruitful. But if you have fertile soil, you hear the word and understand it, this allows the fruits to grow abundantly.
